This is what builders euphemistically contact "contractor grade", which really suggests "scheduled obsolescence". A friend lately purchased a residence with 5 toilets that contained Mansfield plumbing. The builder's warranty had already expired below the earlier owner. So my property warming gift to him was five sets of Korky's toilet repair kits due to the fact I knew he would soon be spending lots of time replacing all of his Mansfield kits--as I had.
The true challenge with Manfield is not the planned obsolescence (you spend for what you get, and that's not substantially) but the fact that these items are inconsistent with other toilet repair systems. The "universal" kits you get at the nearby plumber or at the large box places won't repair these systems. One challenge is that the lever on the flush valve doesn't have a chain to pull up a flapper so you have to modify or replace the lever if you place in a technique with a flapper. It really is also low-priced plastic junk so it doesn't final lengthy.
When it's time to fix the valve, pull out ALL of the Mansfield components in the tank (including the flush deal with) and commence entirely more than with a normal program. Kudos to the vendor (Grady's) for supplying these. At one time, I wasted an inordinate quantity of time trying to uncover these parts.
